Eamon Gilmore

Eamon Gilmore (born 1955) is an Irish Labour Party politician. He is currently the Party Spokesperson for the Environment & Local Government. Eamon Gilmore is currently a TD for Dn Laoghaire. He was educated at Garbally College, Ballinasloe and University College Galway. From 1976 until 1978 he served as President of the Union of Students in Ireland. He first became involved in politics in 1985 when he was elected to Dublin County Council. Gilmore was first elected to Dil ireann for the first time in 1989 and has been re-elected on every occasion since then.
