Dyss

A dyss (pl. dysser) is a Megalithic cist burial from the Danish late Neolithic. The central slab cist may contain several skeletons and was covered by an earth mound with a retaining kerb. They may have been used by the same people who built the Danish passage graves although they appear to come from different traditions. Unlike the cist burials built elsewhere in Northern Europe, dysser are larger and their architecture is unique to the country.
