Durham Drama Festival

The Durham Drama Festival is an open-access drama festival held annually in Durham, UK. Founded in 1975 by Durham University Theatre as the One Act Festival, the event has grown in scope and size over the previous three decades and adopted its current name and format in 2003. In total, thousands of performers from hundreds of theatre companies have presented a variety of new and established work at DDF. Applications for the festival are accepted from the beginning of November each year, for performance in February. Applications are accepted from members of Durham University and external theatre companies. Companies pay only a nominal application fee to appear.
