dukla pass

The Dukla Pass is a strategically significant mountain pass in the Carpathian mountains on the border between modern Poland and Slovakia, and close to the western border of Ukraine. Located Northeast of Presov in Slovakia, on the Polish border, Dukla pass is acknowledged as an area where Eastern and Western Slavic cultures meet. Dukla Pass was the scene of bitterly contested battles on the Eastern fronts of both the Great War and World War II.
