Duane Arnold Energy Center

Duane Arnold Energy Center is a nuclear power plant located two miles north of Palo, Iowa, or eight miles northwest of Cedar Rapids. DAEC is jointly owned and operated by Alliant Energy-IES Utilities, the Central Iowa Power Cooperative and the Corn Belt Power Cooperative. DAEC entered operation in June of 1974. It currently generates a net power output of approximately 580 megawatts using a single water-boiling type of reactor.
