Dstl

The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) is part of the British Ministry of Defence. It was created from the old DERA in 2001 to take over those international collaboration, research and scientific areas that were deemed unsuitable for the to-be-privatised QinetiQ. It has laboratories at It is currently consolidating to three core sites: Fort Halstead, Porton Down, and Portsdown West.
