Started in 1980 in Toronto, Canada by a 26-year old university graduate Murray Reinhart selling goods directly on the street, it later expanded to become one of the top 10 direct sales companies worldwide, with thousands of offices and presence in most countries. Sometimes the phrase "DS-Max" is used to refer to the whole system that includes DS-Max USA Inc. and its affiliated suppliers, its offices (all of them independently owned and operated companies), and the individual distributors inside the offices (who are in most cases independent contractors).
