Drayton SawyerDrayton Sawyer is the eldest brother of the Sawyer clan in the first two Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. Played by Jim Siedow, Drayton was originally a gas station owner, but the intense police investigation following Sally Hardesty's escape forced him to abandon that job. After he and his family moved to an abandoned amausement park near Dallas, he expanded his culinary skills and eventually became an award-winning chili and barbecue cook. Unbeknownst to his customers, however, the meats he sells are made of the people his brother Leatherface kills, skins, and cuts up. In order to keep this truth from being known, he dismisses the teeth and bone fragments occasionally found in his meat as hard-shelled peppercorns. Drayton adopts a folksy persona while in public but is a severely unstable person who berates his sons non-stop and occasionally brings people "home for dinner". However, he has said he takes no pleasure in killing, which is why he leaves that duty to his demented siblings. Note: In the original movie, Drayton was the most "normal" of the family and was slightly troubled by the murders his brothers committed; however, in the second one he fully supports them and is a full-bore lunatic. The most prevalent theory regarding this change is that the police crackdown hardened him, making him into a bitter, cynical maniac.
