Dp Combo

DP combo, in the sport of baseball, is a slang term for a shortstop and second basemen combination, as primary executors of double plays. They are also occasionally referred to as sackmates, a reference to the fact that they play either side of second base (also known as second sack). Generally speaking, only the best sets of middle infielders get called DP combos. As a contemporary example see Derek Jeter and Alfonso Soriano of the New York Yankees, known to be a particularly good DP combo.
