Dovercourt

Dovercourt is a small sea-side town located in Essex, England. Dovercourt is considerably older than its closest neighour Harwich as it appears in the Domesday Book of 1087 . As a very rural based area, its nearest urbanised area is the port of Harwich, located a few kilometres down the road. Dovercourt is full of civil war history and, being a sea-side resort, offers a wide range of shops and cafes for all to enjoy. One interesting piece of trivia is that the popular 1980s BBC sit-com Hi-De-Hi! was filmed here. The local Warner's holiday camp (which sadly is now a housing estate) was transformed into the famous Maplin's.
