Dougie Poynter

right Dougie Lee Poynter is, at 17, the youngest member of pop group McFly, who sprang to stardom at the release of their first single, Five Colours In Her Hair. He was born on the November 30, 1987 in Orsett Hospital, and grew up in Corringham, Essex and joined McFly when he was only 15. He plays the bass guitar, as well as providing backing vocals. Poynter's favourite band is Blink 182, perhaps a testament to the sometimes punk-based sound of McFly's music, his favourite song being Blink 182's "Don't Tell Me It's Over". Doug's favourite male singer is Tom Delonge, with Amy Lee from Evanescence being his favourite female singer. His favourite quote is "69 Dude!!". His favourite actor is Brad Pitt and actress Hilary Duff. His favourite film is Urethra Chronicals and considers anything on MTV to be his favourite TV programme. He likes to drink Lucozade and eat seafood and Greek food. Dougie Poynter's first gig was "Wet Wet Wet at Wembley" and his best gig was "New Found Glory, Finch, Starting Line". He would describe himself as 'A Dark Horse'. Apart from his mother and his sister, Jazzie, his family is comprised of an extended zoo of 2 lizards (Zooky and Buffy), 2 dogs (Meggy and Fraser), 2 cats (Moff and CJ), one hamster and one frog (Ned).
