Double Letter ScoreIn the board game Scrabble, a double letter score, or DLS, is a premium scoring space. This means that a letter set on the board covers a "Double Letter Score" space. That letter scores twice as much as it normally would. In the pictorial example to the right, the Y in the word lofty covers a "Double Letter Score" space, scoring 8 points. On the board, a "Double Letter Score" space is designated by a light blue color. See also: double word score, triple letter score, triple word score
