Dotonbori

Dotonbori (道頓堀) is a canal in Osaka, Japan, known for its surrounding theatres, shops, and restaurants; above all, the area is famous for the colourful signs advertising all of these. One of the most well-known landmarks in Dotonbori is Kanidoraku, a restaurant specialising in crab dishes that sports a 30-foot crab-shaped sign. The pleasure district in Wings of Honneamise is said to be based on Dotonbori.
