Donna Karan

Donna Faske (born October 2, 1948 in Forest Hills, New York), better known as Donna Karan, is an American fashion designer. Karan, nicknamed The Queen Of Seventh Avenue, began working for Liz Claiborne at a very young age. In 1974, she began working with Anne Klein, with whom she lasted as one of her top designers for ten years. In 1984, she first showed her own collection. She had her first baby that year, but she kept on working as a designer throughout her maternity leave period. Karan won the Coty Award in 1977 and once again in 1981. She was inducted into the Coty Hall Of Fame in 1984. She currently owns a company named the Donna Karan Company, which is involved in the marketing, production and design of clothes.
