Donkey Kong Junior

Donkey Kong Junior is a character from a Nintendo arcade and video game. He is the son of the original Donkey Kong and first appeared in the self-titled arcade game. In this game, the object was for the protagonist to rescue his father, who had been captured by Mario. After that he appeared in Super Mario Kart followed by an appearance in Mario Tennis. Donkey Kong Jr. was ousted from the Mario Kart series in Mario Kart 64. Although he was in a series of educational games on the NES (Donkey Kong Jr. Math) and PC (in the days of the SNES), he has not been in a starring role since. The other members of the Donkey Kong family, like Diddy and Dixie Kong, have taken more prominent roles. Though information on this matter is contradictory and unclear, some speculate the current "adult" Donkey Kong character is supposed to be a "grown-up" DK Jr. This information, however, is controversial, as it is also speculated that the current Donkey Kong is DK Jr.'s son.
