Domra

Not to be confused with Dombra
Domra is a long-necked Russian string instrument with three or four steel strings and with round resonator. It is thought that it was brought to Russia with the Mongolian invasion in the 12th century. The domra was redisigned in 1869 by Vassily Vassilievich Andreyev. No exact descriptions of the original instrument remain. Today domra is played with a pick.
