Dock Ellis

Dock Ellis (born March 11, 1945) is a former professional baseball player of the Pittsburgh Pirates. An All-Star calibre player, he became better-known for two bizarre incidents:
  • Beaning Reggie Jackson in the face in retaliation for Reggie's monstrous home run off Ellis in the 1971 All-Star game.
  • Pitching a no-hitter while tripping on LSD. (Ellis' account of this story makes for one of the more fascinating readings ever, concerning major-league baseball.)
