Doc (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

Doc is a fictional character in the U.S. television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has a recurring role in the series' 5th season and is played by Joel Grey. Following Joyce Summers' death, Dawn and Spike approached Doc for help with a resurrection spell. The kindly, frail old man gladly helped them, although the spell was ultimately aborted. Later, during the final campaign against Glory, Spike and Xander went to Doc again, this time for advice on how to defeat the hell-god. After attempting to stall them, Doc attacked, revealing himself to be a demon and one of Glory's worshipers. Xander ran Doc through with a sword, and they left him on the floor of his living room. But Doc was not dead, and reappeared during the battle at the construction site. While Glory was distracted by Buffy, Doc climbed to Dawn's perch and, after hurling Spike from the tower, performed the bloodletting of Dawn necessary to activate the Key and bring down the walls between dimensions. Doc was last seen being thrown from the tower himself by Buffy.
