Dioner Navarro

Dioner Faviau Navarro (born February 9, 1984 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a Major League Baseball catcher and switch-hitter batter who plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Navarro debuted with the New York Yankees on September 7, 2004. Considered to be the best prospect left in the organization, he was batting .250 with one home run and 16 RBI for AAA Columbus before the promotion. Earlier in the year, he hit .271 with three home runs and 29 RBI for AA Trenton. In seven games, Navarro hit .429 (3-for-7) with one RBI and two runs scored. Before the 2005 season, the Arizona Diamondbacks traded pitcher Randy Johnson to the Yankees in a three-team deal that includes Los Angeles. Arizona received Navarro and pitchers Javier Vazquez and Brad Halsey from New York, then sent Navarro and three minor leagues prospects to the Dodgers for outfielder Shawn Green.
