Dinobot

Dinobot is a maximal from the Beast Wars (Transformers) universe. Dinobot defected from the Predacons early on & is proficient in physical combat; a true warrior who follows the bushido code. His beast form was supposedly a Velociraptor, although his size and appearance suggest he was really a Deinonychus. Actually, given that the beast form of Dinobot lacks the 'thumb-claw' of that species the size of the form hearkens more to the large species of raptor discovered in Utah just prior to production of the movie Jurassic Park. It was named 'Utahraptor' by the discoverer on the suggestion of paleontologist and novelist Robert T. Bakker who wrote the book Raptor Red based solely on the finding of the extraordinary fossils. Bakker had been a consultant by the production team that made the movie and was being hounded by them because the director wanted to put in raptors of a size that had not been discovered yet. Now back to your regular transformers reading. Dinobot would question the meaning of his existence throughout the series until his eventual death heroically defending an early anthropoid colony, which would eventually evolve into humans, from the Predacons. Through this fight, the anthropods saw Dinobot make a simple tool, and copied this action. Dinobot can thus be held responsible for the rise of man, in the Transformers Universe. Later cloned by Megatron as a new Transmetal 2 through the use of his DNA and a piece of Rampage's spark. Dinobot was voiced by Scott McNeil(English) & Keiji Fujiwara (Japanese)
