Diana DegetteDiana DeGette (born July 29 1957), American politician, has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1997, representing the 1st Congressional District of Colorado (map). She was born in Tachikawa, Japan, was educated at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado and New York University, and was a lawyer, a Deputy State Public Defender and a member of the Colorado House of Representatives before entering the House. In Congress, she serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee; she also serves as the co-chair of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus and the Pro-Choice caucus.
