DharmendraDharmendra (born December 8, 1935), born Deol Dharmendra Keval Krishna in Phagwara, Punjab, is a legendary Indian actor who acted in successful Hindi films between 1962 and 1977. Dharmendra has been married twice and has 5 children from his first wife (most notably Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol) who are also successful actors. He has two daughters, Esha and Ahna Deol, from Hema Malini, his second wife who is also an actress. He publicly admitted to have converted to Islam with Hema Malini in order to have two wives, having adopted the name Dalawar Khan and Hema Malini having adopted the name Aisha Khan. Under Indian law, only one man can marry one woman with the exception of Muslims in India, who are allowed to marry up to four wives. He produced the film Barsaat (1995) as a launchpad for his son Bobby. He became a member of Parliament in 2004 general elections from Bikaner in Rajasthan on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket.
