Dexter Holland

Bryan Keith Holland (born December 29, 1965), better known as his stage name Dexter Holland is a singer and guitarist for the punk band, The Offspring. After failing to get into a Social Distortion show in 1984, he decided to form a band with fellow friend and cross-country teammate Greg Kriesel called "Manic Subsidal". This group eventually became The Offspring and got a contract from Nemesis records. Here, they recorded their first full length album entitled The Offspring in 1988 and issued in March 1989. This album would eventually be re-issued on November 21, 1995 by Dexter's own record label, Nitro Records. In 1991, the band signed to with Epitaph Records (home of Bad Religion, L7 and NOFX and similar bands) to record Ignition and then released it in 1992. His last Epitaph Records album with The Offspring was Smash (1994). Then later on, he signed with Columbia Records in and released Ixnay On The Hombre (1997), Americana (1998) and Conspiracy Of One (2000). Their new album, Chinese Democracy, was scheduled to be released in summer 2003, but due to legal problems from Guns n' Roses due to the similarity of the name to an upcoming album, it was renamed to Splinter and released on December 9th 2003.
