Six of the most intelligent minds in Transformers history reduced to "Devastator Crush" Devastator (Japanese: Devstar) is the name of the first gestalt created in the Transformers fictional universe. His components are smaller robots referred to as the Decepticon Constructicon(Japanese:Buildron) Team. Other constructicons, ones affiliated with the Autobot cause or not affiliated at all, hold other positions in the Autobot and Decepticon armies, behind the scenes (Ref: Comics, Books) and are responsible for construction and upkeep of bases, cities, and mechanical research on Cybertron. The constructicons created the gestalt technology, and six of the constructicons were chosen (or volunteered) to test the unproven technology. The result was a single transformer much larger than any other since the age of the Guardian robots - over 60 feet tall (For comparison, Autobot leader Optimus Prime is approximately 25 ft tall) His components are: - Scrapper, A wheeled front-load shovel and the nominal leader who forms the right leg
- Bonecrusher, a bulldozer who forms the left arm; the least useful part of Devastator (and he knows it)
- Scavenger, a shovel loader who forms the right arm;
- Mixmaster, a cement mixer who forms the left leg
- Hook, A crane who forms the head and shoulders
- Longhaul, a dumptruck who forms the torso section.
Devastator suffers the primary limitation of the first-generation gestalt technology: That of simple-mindedness. His thoughts and actions are limited to what his six components can agree upon at any given time - and that is usually an order given by Megatron. He is also slow and lumbering, and very easy to trip up.
