Derek Enright

Derek Anthony Enright (August 2, 1935 - October 31, 1995) was a British Labour politician. He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford and worked as a school teacher before being elected Member of the European Parliament for Leeds in 1979. He was British Labour group spokesman on third world affairs and women's rights, and was later an EC delegate in Guinea Bissau. He was Member of Parliament for Hemsworth from a by-election in 1991 until his death. He once made a recording of the Beatles song Yellow Submarine - in Latin!
