Denton, Lincolnshire

Denton, Lincolnshire is an ancient roman settlement nestling just south west of Grantham and the A1 road in England. It is also a possible site for Beaker culture, from some small archeological finds recently. This parish is approx 2600 acres. The name derives from the Old English dene+tun, meaning "village in a valley", but in Domesday it is written as 'Dentune'. (There is also a Denton in Northamptonshire)
