Delfinen Class Submarine

The Delfinen class of submarines was the last class of submarines of the Royal Danish Navy designed and built entirely by Danish architects. The first three boats of the class were financed by Denmark. The fourth was financed by the United States (where it was known as SS-554) under the Cost Share program.

  • Draught: 4.0 meters
  • Complement: seven officers, 26 men
  • Propulsion: two B&W 1200hp diesel engines, two BBC 2100hp electric motors, two propellers
  • Range: 4000 nautical miles at 8.5 knots
  • Armament: four 533mm torpedo tubes, eight torpedoes
  • Speed: 13.5 knots surfaced, 16.0 knots submerged
