Deeping St James

East of Market Deeping on the River Welland, in the middle of rich sedimentary agricultural land, and possessing the record for the longest parish in England. Based around a now lost 12th Century Benedictine Priory, destroyed in the dissolution. The stones from the priory were used to build various 17th century buildings in the area. The village also features an 18th century village lock up.
