Deborah Carthy-deu

Deborah Carthy-Deu (January 5, 1966) is a young Puerto Rican woman who was Miss Universe in 1985, winning the contest at Miami and becoming the second Puerto Rican to win it. She followed in Marisol Malaret's steps. Deborah said herself that she wanted to become a Hollywood star when she was crowned. This she did not achieve. However, she did real well on Puerto Rican tv and has been the host of many tv shows as well as special productions there. Although she has always declared herself as 100 percent Puerto Rican and is proud of her raising in Puerto Rico and Puerto Rican heritage, Carthy-Deu is also half Colombian actually, the Colombian half coming from her father, her mother is Spanish.
