Day By Day Cafe

Saint Paul's Day by Day Cafe is well known for it's earth breakfast (also a specialty of cross-Mississippi Seward Cafe in Minneapolis), a mixture of hash browns, scrambled eggs, and onions. Founded and owned by Greg Ekbom, a recovering heroin addict, the cafe is a locally known hang out for Hazelden alumni and other hangers-on in sober crowd. Lines on weekends often extend out the door, an especially notable feat considering the air temperature in the Twin Cities reaches an average high of 20 degrees Fahrenheit in January. Smoking is no longer permitted anywhere inside the restaurant.
