Darwin Cubilln

Darwin Harrikson Cubilln Salom (born November 15, 1972 in Bobures, Zulia State, Venezuela), better known as Darwin Cubilln (coo-be-YAHN), is a Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher who plays for the Baltimore Orioles. Originally signed as a free agent by the Yankees in 1993, Cubilln has played for the Toronto Blue Jays (2000), Texas Rangers (2000) and Montreal Expos (2001). Cubilln's best pitch is a sharp 95 MPH fastball, and he has a decent split-fingered and a straight changeup. His stuff is good enough to hold down his hits allowed total, but he walks too many batters. When he has to throw his fastball from behind in the count, he is going to get into trouble, as evidenced by the significant number of home runs he allowed in his career (13 in 69.2 innings pitched). In three-season career, Cubilln has compiled a 1-0 record with 54 strikeouts and a 6.85 ERA. See also
