Darren Hayes

Darren Hayes (born 8 May, 1972 in Brisbane Queensland, Australia) is a successful singer/songwriter. He is perhaps best known for his part in the hugely popular duo Savage Garden, that had international hit singles such as "I Want You", "Truly Madly Deeply" and "I Knew I Loved You". After parting company with his band mate, Daniel Jones, Hayes started recording his first solo album. Spin was released in 2002 and carried on in the same musical vein as Savage Garden, with a less soft rock sound and more edgey R&B vibe although the first single "Insatiable" was a ballad. Hayes spent two years working on his second solo album, The Tension And The Spark mainly produced by Robert Conley, with the first single Popular released July 12, 2004. One of his B-Sides, "When You Say You Love Me", was an Australian top 20 single in April 2004 for Human Nature off their Walk The Tightrope album, and was also covered by Clay Aiken for his Measure of a Man album. A second release, Darkness, performed poorly where it was released (making only number 40 in his native Austalia), although in some countries such as the United Kingdom it appears to be never seeing the light of day. Darren Hayes now lives in London.
