Daniel Keyes

Daniel Keyes is an American author. He is best known for his award-winning first novel, Flowers for Algernon. As taken from the book itself:
Daniel Keyes was born in Brooklyn and received his BA and MA degrees from Brooklyn college. He has been a merchant seaman, ship's purser, fiction editor and high school teacher. At the present time*, Mr. Keyes is on the English faculty at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.

Flowers for Algernon has been challenged and even banned in certain schools and libraries for sexual scenes and the touchy subject of retardation.
