Dan MillerArthur Daniel Miller (b. December 24, 1944) is a former Canadian politician and member of the New Democratic Party of British Columbia (NDP). He served briefly as interim leader of the NDP and was Premier of British Columbia for six months in 1999-2000. First elected to the BC legislature in the 1986 election, he served in the cabinet of Premier Glen Clark under a variety of ministries, including Minister of Forests and Minister for Energy and Mines. In 1992, he became deputy premier. He was elected interim leader of the BC NDP by an emergency meeting of the provincial caucus following the sudden August 25, 1999 resignation of Premier Clark. He served as premier until Ujjal Dosanjh was elected party leader and thus premier by a formal party convention on February 24, 2000. In 2003, Miller supported Bill Blaikie's bid to become leader of the federal New Democratic Party. In early 2005 he was hired by the BC Liberals as an advisor for the province's offshore oil and gas development team, and has also worked for a major pipeline company and a forest company since leaving office.
Dan Miller is also the name of a Congressman from Florida in the United States.
