Dan Geer

Dan Geer is a former computer security consultant for @stake, a company cooperating with Microsoft. He published a 2003 paper arguing that Microsoft was a monoculture; he was later fired. The 24 page report entitled CyberInsecurity: The Cost of Monopoly was released by the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) which made the argument that Microsoft is a threat to national security. Geer has a Ph.D. in biostatistics, from Harvard. He worked for He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
