Dalkeith

Dalkeith is a burgh of barony in Midlothian, Scotland, lying on the River North Esk. Dalkeith Palace, just outside the town, is a seat of the Duke of Buccleuch, surrounded by parkland and follies. It's got a couple of nice parks, lots of pubs, and a great Italian restaurant. It's the main administrative centre for Midlothian, but it's best at being a feeder town for beautiful Edinburgh. The playpark in Dalkeith palace is fantastic. The Celtic prefix dal- indicates a water-meadow. Compare Dallas.
Dalkeith is also a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.
