Dalby, Queensland

Dalby is a town in south east Queensland, Australia, and is located approximately 210 kilometres west of the state capital, Brisbane at the junction of the Warrego, Moonie and Bunya Highways. Dalby is the administrative centre of the Wambo Shire, and local government for the town is provided by the Dalby Town Council. Shire population is around 15000. Dalby and the surrounding towns are located in the area known as the Darling Downs. Industry is basically rural, with pigs, cattle and sheep the predominant livestock, and crops such as wheat, cotton and sorghum providing an agricultural component. Two cotton gins are situated in the town.
