Cyworld

Cyworld is a South Korean blog service. It is said that as many as 90 percent of South Korean people in their 20s are a member of Cyworld. The most famous item Cyworld offers is the "minihompy" which is a photo blog and communications tool. When users on Cyworld buy backgrounds and other decorations for their homepages, they use real money. However, instead of using cash directly Cyworld uses a system called "acorns" which represent the cash the user wishes to spend. It is said that Cyworld's daily income from people buying "acorns" is about $60,000.
