Cynthia Ozick

Cynthia Ozick (b. April 17, 1928, New York, New York) is an American writer whose works are about Jewish American life. Her new novel Heir to the Glimmering World (2004), for some reason called The Bear Boy in the UK, has received much praise in the literary press. She is acknowledged a modern master of the novel. She is on the shortlist for the 2005 Man Booker International Prize.
