Cuisine

As many Arabic peoples started out as nomads, a key point of their food is that it lasts a long time. Hummus is a widely popular dish, made of mashed garbanzo beans, or chick peas, often with olive oil and garlic or lemon juice, depending on the cook. It is often served as a dip with pita bread. M'judra, a thick stew of onions, rice, and lentils, is often considered a poor man's food, and is eaten around Lent by Lebanese immigrants to the United States. It is also never served to company by traditional Lebanese families.
