Cudahy, WisconsinCudahy is a city located in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 18,429. Geography is located at 42°56'54" North, 87°51'40" West (42.948416, -87.861010). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.3 km² (4.8 mi²). 12.3 km² (4.8 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 18,429 people, 7,888 households, and 4,890 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,498.0/km² (3,880.1/mi²). There are 8,273 housing units at an average density of 672.5/km² (1,741.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 93.89% White, 0.95% African American, 0.81% Native American, 0.84% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.45% from other races, and 2.03% from two or more races. 4.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 7,888 households out of which 28.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.6% are married couples living together, 11.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.0% are non-families. 32.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.32 and the average family size is 2.94. In the city the population is spread out with 23.0% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $40,157, and the median income for a family is $49,082. Males have a median income of $36,787 versus $25,882 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,615. 8.2% of the population and 5.6% of families are below the poverty line.
