Cross Examination Debate Association

Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA) is the largest intercollegiate debate association in the United States.

History

CEDA was founded in 1971 as the Southwest Cross Examination Debate Association. Originally begun as a split from the National Debate Tournament (NDT), CEDA has reunified to where they cooperate with NDT and the American Debate Association to have a joint topic for the school year. CEDA typically uses a Policy Debate format.

Tournament Results

Emory University won the 2004 CEDA National Tournament in a 9-0 decision.
