Cronulla

Cronulla is a beach suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The name is believed to be an Aboriginal corruption of the name of Mr. John Connell, who owned several large grants of land in the locality. An alternative belief is that the name is derived from the Aboriginal name for the area, Kurranulla. Cronulla lies south of Sydney, on a small peninsula framed by Bate Bay on the east, Port Hacking in the south, and Gunnamatta Bay in the west. The neighbouring suburb of Woolooware lies to the north and west of Cronulla.
