Creston, British Columbia

Creston ( Lat. 49.06 North; Lon. 116.31 West ) is a town ( population about 5,000 ) in southeastern British Columbia, Canada, a few miles north of the International Boundary between Canada and Idaho, USA. Its economy is largely resource-based with agriculture and forestry most important. Many are employed in the service sector, and tourism is increasingly prominent. The town has a large brewery and two grain elevator-type buildings. Many apple, cherry, pear and plum orchards grow around the town, which is also an important dairy center.
