electrical engineering
building at
University of California, Berkeley
, situated at the northeastern corner of the central campus, facing Hearst Avenue. Named for
Clarence Linus Cory
, Dean of College of Mechanics from
1901
to
1930
, it was the site of two attacks by the Unabomber,
Ted Kaczynski
, in
1982
and
1985
. Cory Hall is unique in that it is the only building to be targeted twice by
Ted Kaczynski
. The first attack injured
Diogenes Angelakos
, vice-chairman of the
computer science
and
electrical engineering
department. The second bomb was placed in a computer lab and injured student
