Corporate Police State

A Corporate police state is a pejorative term for a hypothetical system of government that combines an economy based on private enterprise, especially large business corporations, with a repressive and authoritarian government. It is envisioned that a corporate police state could manifest itself in a kind of modern feudalism, or, in combination with sufficient nationalism and strong state power, could turn into a variant of fascism. This form of government would use that power to enact laws which maximize corporate profits without regard for personal liberty. Corporate police states are commonly depicted in dystopian popular literature, particularly the cyberpunk genre of science fiction and web sites like Infowars.com
