Corky Evans

Corky Evans is a British Columbia New Democratic Party politician from the Kootenays. Affectionately known as Corky, he served as Minister of Agriculture in the provincial government of Glen Clark after running unsuccessfully against him in the 1996 leadership race. In his second attempt at the BC NDP leadership in 2000, he placed a stronger second to Ujjal Dosanjh; in Dosanjh's government, he became Minister of Health. He was defeated in the 2001 provincial election. He is once again the BC NDP candidate for Member of the Legislative Assembly in the provincial riding of NelsonCreston, for the election scheduled for May 17, 2005. Evans, Corky
