Geography Copperhill is located at 34°59'32" North, 84°22'27" West (34.992108, -84.374254). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.0 km² (1.9 mi²). 4.9 km² (1.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.08% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 511 people, 239 households, and 146 families residing in the city. The population density is 104.9/km² (271.9/mi²). There are 274 housing units at an average density of 56.3/km² (145.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.46% White, 0.00% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 2.35% from two or more races. 0.98% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 239 households out of which 20.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.4% are married couples living together, 10.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.5% are non-families. 34.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.14 and the average family size is 2.73. In the city the population is spread out with 18.2% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 29.4% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who are 65 years of age or older.
