Compute!

Compute! was a classic computer magazine that was published from 1979 to 1994. It covered all major platforms until 1988, when like so many of its brethren it became a PC only magazine. In its 1980s heyday it often featured machine code type-in programs, usually simple video games listed as hexadecimal numbers that could be POKE'd into the memory of a home computer such as a VIC-20 or Atari 400. After Compute! had existed for some years, several spinoffs of the magazine were launched; one of these was Compute!'s Gazette, catering to Commodore computer users.
