Communist Party Of Nepal (Democratic)

Communist Party of Nepal (Democratic), a short-lived communist party in Nepal. CPN(D) was formed through the merger of three pro-Soviet Union factions, Communist Party of Nepal (Burma), Communist Party of Nepal (Manandhar) and Communist Party of Nepal (Amatya). CPN(D) was a member of the United Left Front and took part in the uprising against the authocratic regime in 1990. CPN(D) then fell apart when the Burma and Amatya groups decided to join Communist Party of Nepal (Unfied Marxist-Leninist). The remaining Manandhar group reorganized itself as the Communist Party of Nepal (United).
